Believe it or not, I am a trained musician. College then conservatories. I always thought of myself as a 'fly boy' as I wasn't interested in the theory or mechanics. I just wanted to play and create magic. The magic that only can be produced by youthful exuberant innocence. The above video is all of those things. It is pure beauty to my eyes and emotion. This Theorbo musician, Jonas Nordberg is still a student at The Mozartium University of Salzburg when this video was made. The setting is a 14th century chapel in Sweden. Best viewed full screen.

I saw the movie Florence Foster Jenkins yesterday. It was enjoyable but a tad long. The actor who played Madam Jenkins' accompanist was the best part of the movie (sorry Meryl). The movie did not play true to her life. Along with singing, Madam Jenkins also did Tableau Vivant of opera heroines for all of her various clubs and charities. Youtube has a wonderful documentary about Flo. She was in the thick of society and entertainment stars of the day. Check it out!

We have a deaf friend who reads lips very well (unless you have an untrimmed beard and mustache), and he speaks clearly . He does try to sing. He introduced us to some of his friends who were also deaf and in communicating with them I did what Allie did not even realizing it until the next morning thinking of what a fun evening we had. Lesson learned. (I hope)
